This is due to the BBC contacting us last month and asking us to postpone our original announcement of the event and its activities until we had run it past them first. They informed us that we would need to conform to new regulations that they felt were needed for them to protect their copyrights and they said they would send through a list of rules and regulations that we would need to abide by. To this day we have still not received these, nor any further correspondence from the BBC, thus meaning that we are unable to announce any details of the event to you at this time.
Since the first e-mail from the BBC asking us to hold off announcing our event many of you will know that they have announced their own commercial event. As they have been very busy promoting that event it may explain why they have been slow to provide us with the information they require us to abide by!
We continue to wait for this information to be provided and as soon as it is we will move ahead with our plans to bring the you, the fans, an amazing Dr Who experience, run by fans for fans. We will inform you on here of any developments as soon as we can.
We are very sorry for the delay. We have never been told to hold off announcing any event by the BBC before in our 20 years of running fan events! We want to do what is right and what they ask of us and so until we have heard from them we cannot move forward.
Please be assured though that this event WILL happen and we will put on an amazing event for all fans, young and old, of new Who and old Who. We were the first people to ever get Paul McGann and David Tennant to an event and we will ensure that our event is something very special for everyone as we are fans too and are really looking forward to it.
