Flanigan had guest roles in numerous television series including Profiler, First Monday, and Sisters, until he got his breakthrough with his role on Stargate Atlantis as Lt. Colonel John Sheppard. He lived in Vancouver, Canada, where the series was filmed during the week, and flew to Los Angeles during the weekends where his wife and children resided. Alex Zahara was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. He attended the University of Alberta and the University of British Columbia where he achieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre. A familiar face to sci-fi fans, Alex has also appeared as 8 different characters on Stargate SG-1, more than any other actor, most of them in full prosthetic makeup. Robert played two characters in SG1 which were: Seth was the brother of Osiris and Isis and a rebel Goa'uld. Setesh was depicted as a strange (and mythological) creature, and the masked guards based on its likeness became the subject of many Jaffa jokes. Melburn Jackson was the father of Dr. Daniel Jackson and, evidently, an archaeologist. He and his wife Claire Jackson were killed in an accident at the New York Museum of Art in approximately 1973 when they were crushed by a falling capstone that they were setting up for an exhibit. Eight-year-old Daniel was put into foster care Robert studied film production and directing at NYU (SCPS) and is creator and director of an animated series entitled "Land Of Zi" which has gained great attention at leading festivals throughout the world.

She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre from Simon Fraser University, and worked extensively in theatre for many years before making the leap to TV and Film. Sharon Taylor played Amelia Banks is a member of the Atlantis expedition since around 2008. She, along with Chuck, is one of the city's technicians.
